17 Oct. then Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia took to social media to announce that they had agreed to fight each other in which everyone agrees to the joke, it will be a mega-fight at lightweight, if it goes ahead.

Davis went so far as to say that the fight was “sealed sealed delivered…”.

But Oscar De La Hoya, Hall of Fame fighter and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, caused quite a stir on Saturday when he sent out a tweet Monday demanding a signed contract from Premier Boxing Champions and Davis fired or walk away. the battle would not take place.

That tweet raised more than a few eyebrows, but on Tuesday, De La Hoya posted what appeared to be a contract with Garcia at GBP’s offices. on Instagram he wrote, “The devil is in the details. Let’s go April 15!” He then tagged Garcia and Davis in the post.

Yahoo Sports reached out to Golden Boy President Eric Gomez, who confirmed that the company has received the deal from the PBC and that lawyers have gone through it.

It means it’s a fight, but it’s official now. Stephen Espinoza, president of Sports Entertainment, used to be De La Hoya’s sponsor and handled much of his fight. Espinoza told Fight Hub TV that it would be normal for De La Hoya to sign because he is acting so late in the week of the fight.

But Espinoza said everything came together in November when Davis and Garcia tweeted it was done.

The day they announced it, the fighters announced that they had a deal, everyone agreed — DAZN, Golden Boy, Showtime, PBC — they were all bothering the fighters saying, ‘We have peace.'” Espinoza said to fight the Hub. “Why it changed two days later is a mystery to me.”

The Davis-Garcia fight is the first of three mega-cones that avid boxers are waiting for, but none of the three have yet been completed. Davis-Garcia is looking very close to the transition goal, and there is still work to be done to make a deal. The heavyweight title fight between champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

IRC for the undivided welterweight title between one champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO champion Terence Crawford is much more problematic.

Kudos are due to Davis and Garcia for making the fight as a team. It’s an exciting battle that Davis will probably see as his favorite given his experience.

How Gervonta Davis Ryan Garcia vs

Davis is ranked 10th on the Yahoo Sports MNA list and is considered one of the worst, 15 the best in the world. Garcia is not favored, but he has the speed and power to be a legitimate threat to beat Davis very hard.

Garcia is 23-0 with 19 knockouts. Davis isn’t the tough guy who slams his fist, but he generates power from his quick, blazing hands. They will have faster hands and better feet and Davis will have better power.

For Garcia to win, he will have to control the distance, keep Davis on the finish line and avoid mistakes. He will have to keep the fight in the middle of the ring and punish Davis every time he tries to slip inside.

Davis has more leeway. He’s a much more talented fighter than he’s given credit for and with his defense, he’s become more adept at slipping punches while working on the inside.

Garcia will always need to try to slow him down. He doesn’t need to make rounds on the scorecards because he has home run-type power that can end a fight at any moment.

But Davis has to be careful with Garcia’s power and not allow Garcia to fire at him from the outside without repercussions.

It’s a big deal, a big fight for the division. It’s likely to do a significant amount, buying somewhere along the lines of 500,000 to about 650,000 paid views and with a paid gateway if it’s at T-Mobile Arena that could make as much as $10 million, if not a little more. It’s a fight that boxing fans want to see.

The schedule is scattered in the first quarter, and then-as-none there is a blow to get fans excited.

A Davis-Garcia will generate plenty of excitement.

It seemed official when the fight took place on November 17th. As with boxing, weird things happen sometimes and it’s always wise to be more cautious until things are official.

This won’t be a fight, ahem, unless boxing or history will change. But it’s going to be a fun, competitive fight that fans have been clamoring to see and thoroughly enjoy.

At the end of the day, it never hurts to listen and satisfy customers.
